Big Dreams Pay Off When Claudia began producing the Beauty Spoon, her goal was to get her product into Walmart — but back then, she never knew how successful she would ultimately be. The retail giant chose Claudia to participate in a program that sourced products from women-owned businesses and soon after, the orders began pouring in.
An Innovative Beauty Tool The Beauty Spoon has a flexible stem & spoon, designed to easily scoop out those last bits of serums, lotions & other beauty products from their jars.
Miss Independent Growing up, Claudia was the youngest girl in a family of eight (8) children. She became fiercely independent early on, as her parents were constantly occupied with running three (3) businesses and caring for their large brood.
A Self-Made Woman As a young girl, Claudia taught herself to ride a bike, balance a skateboard and get around the neighborhood without the help of her parents or older siblings — she was fearless – at 15 years old.
Entering the Modeling World At 19, Claudia caught the eye of a modeling agent, who convinced her to travel to LA to have professional head shots taken. It was the first time she ever wore makeup and she fell in love with it instantly — when the makeup artist first applied eyeliner, she felt transformed.
Model Citizen During Claudia’s modeling career, she landed gigs with companies like Sears & Saks Fifth Avenue. And although she was a model, she still had big hair in the 90s!
A Genius Idea Strikes Claudia had a revelation one day when she was desperately trying to coax the last bit of beauty serum out of a glass bottle — what if there were a tool to help with this frustrating task? In that moment everything clicked. She sketched out a prototype of the Beauty Spoon and got to work.
Never-Ending Work Week Right now, Claudia works Monday to Sunday — she doesn’t get weekends off. Thankfully, she loves being a business owner, which keeps her going.
