Express Appreciation to the good & great things that the Team is doing.
Asking Questions is not a sign of ignorance – especially if you’re new or it’s a new process. In either case, you want to fully understand the situation.
When Communicating an Idea, do the summary first, so they have an overview of the situation. If your audience needs more details, have them available.
Convey Confidence and Customers & Associates will want to work with you, because they see you as a winner.
Contribution should be encouraged from all personnel. Always be open to new ideas and implement and brag about the good ones.
Find out your Customer’s Needs, so you can determine how your product can satisfy their need and communicate that clearly to them.
Decisions need to be made from your own knowledge base or know where to go to get info.
Gather sufficient information (but not too much), to make a Decision. Look for the trend, till you feel good about it.
Don’t procrastinate, even if you’re not sure, make that Decision! Monitor it more closely, in case you need to modify it.
Getting Help. The key to mastering a task is to find someone (a Mentor) to show you the ropes and the little tricks that make it happen.
Grow your people by giving them bigger tasks when they succeed at smaller ones.
You’re in charge of your own Learning Curve. Find your comfortable pace, then push it a little – if you want to get the benefits faster.
Manage your personal Life. Determine & set expectations. Get organized and establish a routine to make it a “no-brainer”. Communicate, compliment. Find a balance of Career & your Personal Life and you’ll be happier.
If you make a Mistake, admit it right away. Determine why. Fix it ASAP. Get help if you need to.
After a mistake – A sincere Apology – gets you more respect than not accepting responsibility.
A unique Opportunity only comes along once. Check it out and see if it’s worthy to pursue, because you wont get a 2nd chance like this.
When given an Opportunity, take it – if it’s worthy. Your Customers / Clients / Management is showing their confidence in you. How can you make it happen? Share it with the originators, to determine if they agree with you.
