“The difference between art & science is that if something works in art, you don’t have to explain why.” That’s why it’s harder to be technical. You have to be logical about everything.
“The automatic Factory of the future will have only two employees, a man & a dog. The man will be there to feed the dog. The dog will be there to keep the man from touching the equipment”.
”The facts, although interesting, are irrelevant to some car salesmen, scam artists, manipulators, controllers, users, politicians, lawyers & judges”. It’s all about perception. If you can win with emotion, you don’t need the facts.
“The farther away the future is, the better it looks”. If we get closer, we see the reality. If we get too close, all we see are the flaws.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. [Eleanor Roosevelt] What is your Dream? How are you going to get it?
“The hardest thing in life to learn, is, which bridge to cross and which to burn. But if you learn, you’ll have great success in life. So get all the info you need to make a decision, (but not too much), then move ahead boldly.
“The more things change, the more they stay insane”. We have so much continual change in technology, that we are insane to try to keep up with too much. We have to pick what interests us and those we must keep up with. For all else, we should get an expert.
“The more time you spend in reporting on what you are doing, the less time you have to do it.” Stability is achieved when you spend all your time doing virtually nothing, but reporting that you are making good progress at it. Maybe you’re on the wrong path. A good leader could get you back on it.
“The only knowledge that can hurt you is, the knowledge you don’t have”. So, if you are unsure, don’t hesitate to ask.
Common Sense? “The only sense that is common in the long run, is the sense of change”. We instinctively avoid it to try to stay in our “comfort zone”. Are you ready for the adventure, if you move out of it?
“Sometimes, solving of a problem lies in just finding the solvers”. Root out the right person that knows, how to get to the “Root Cause”.
“If you don’t take the time to do it right the first time, you’ll have even less time to do it over”.
“According to government & big business, the value of a program is directly proportional to the weight of its report”.
“There are no rules around my laboratory, we’re trying to accomplish something here”. – Thomas Edison,
“There are two rules for success in life: Rule #1 – Don’t tell people everything you know. #2 – Don’t tell people what you really think.
“There is no limit to the amount of good that people can accomplish, if they don’t care who gets the credit”.
Accepting Responsibility ??? 1) When in doubt, mumble or confuse. 2) When in trouble, look for a scapegoat or delegate it to some one else. 3) When in charge, stall – ask for more time.
