Rules of Partnering #2
Compiled by Peter/CXO Wiz4biz 7/13
7. Ask Women,
because men have one big funda- “mental” flaw (among many [Wiz4biz]. Most men don’t care about practical things and the long-term consequences. If something is active, men want part of the action – good or bad. They don’t investigate it that well. Women – by contrast – are more cautious and want to know the details – particularly the people factors (ie, easy to work with) – and the long-term consequences.
8. Face-off vs E-communications.
Have as many Face-to-Face meetings as possible, when you are discussing & negotiating the partnership, to get to know each other and determine if it seems probable that you would work well together.
9. Document the Deal now.
Draft an Agreement. If you start too early, either party could get too picky about insignificant details. Now that both of you have tentatively agreed to the terms, let a Lawyer look at it – to make sure everything is legal. Once you get their blessings, finalize in a little Signing Ceremony – that you celebrate. Draft up an News Release to send to the media – announcing your Partnership. Now go on and do great things together !!! And finally . . .
10. Designate Internal Functions,
for each Partner to manage & monitor – in the Partnership. Check on the progress Monthly – when you get started and Quarterly – when you get more stable and make adjustment, change goals or anything else that needs it – to achieve your Vision.
