The Art of Sucking Down
Flattery can get you everywhere !!! Compiled by Peter/CXO wiz4biz 7/13
Usually when you want someone to do something for you, you have to “suck up” * to the big people. But the ability to “suck down” to the lower people – that really make it happen – is more important !!! Here’s the step-by-step process. * (see The Art of Sucking Up” on Wiz4biz)
1. Understand the Dynamics. If you want something, you should be nice to the 1st person (lowest) who can get it for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re powerful, rich or famous (or think you are), they have the “power” to give you what you want, so treat them with respect and you’ll probably get it !!!
2. Understand their Needs. They probably not being paid enough $$ to put up with a lot of troubles every day. Treat them with respect and they’ll be happy to get it for you !!!
3. Be Important. If you’re a frequent Customer, they’ll probably remember you. If you’re friendly, they wont forget you !!!
4. Good Mood (is a good move). Make them laugh. You only have one chance to put them in a “good mood”. After they ask you a Question, answer with a “clever” reply, to break their monotony and put them in a good mood. It’ll brighten up their normally “dreary day” and both of you will be in a better mood. Then, they can’t resist getting you what you want – if they can.
5. Don’t try to Buy – your way in. You’ll likely insult them. Be honest and ask courteously for what you want. If it’s really significant, it’s appropriate to express your gratitude with a gift.
6. Never Complain. If you don’t get what you want, then go to the next level – their Supervisor or Manager. But don’t complain about them or you’re not likely to get what you want. Their management will be defending them.
7. Use your Karma. There’s an automatic Karma Scoreboard in the Universe. It keeps track of the points you’ve earned. Help others at every opportunity and you’ll build up more (+) points. A little kindness every day will eventually be returned to you. Expect it. But put points in first, before you can expect to take them out.
8. Accept what you can’t Change (see the Serenity Prayer). Some things are not meant to be. If so, don’t keep insisting, start accepting !!! They wanted to help you, but couldn’t.
