Think Big & Kick Ass #2
Review of the Donald Trump book 11/12 enhanced by Peter@Wiz4.biz
Chapter 4 – Creating Luck [ U. See the Horseshoe? Yes, U !!! ]
Trump does admit that some people are more lucky than others. But the difference is that they “create” their own luck. How is that possible? Trump quotes a line from Gary Player, a professional golfer. After people wondered how Player could win PGA events by being so small, he said, “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” Trump goes back to this quote over and over again in his book. To create luck, you have to think positively, take on new challenges, be open to new ideas & be persistent.
Chapter 5 – Fear Factor – This chapter is basically about commanding respect from yourself, friends, enemies & your employees. Trump stresses that you must value loyalty “above everything else” and Trump shows you ways he did not help people who were disloyal to him. In this chapter, Trump tells you that “lions kill for food, humans kill for sport” to let you know how brutal the business world – and real life – can be. There is a ton of knowledge to learn in this chapter.
Chapter 6 – Revenge – Out of all the chapters in this book, this is the one I disagree with. But that might be the way Trump is a billionaire and I’m not! Trump is a firm believer in taking revenge on anyone who tries to take advantage and embarrasses you. He does say “forgive good people” but don’t even think about forgiving “bad people.” He does accept people’s apology but never trust those people again. He tells of a story of professional athlete who called him for advice and now calls the guy a “schmuck” because he didn’t have the fight to take revenge on a manager who was robbing him blind. Trump doesn’t put up with people who let others take advantage of them.
Chapter 7 – Big Mo! – This chapter talks about how extremely important “momentum” is in your life. This was an eye-opening chapter. I was able to see how momentum changed my course several times in life from good to bad & bad to good. Trump says: “You start with no momentum when you start something new, but quickly can build momentum “with passion and intensity.” You can’t ever give up – never stop. Trump tells you how to continually build momentum and how to use it to your advantage to get others on board.
